You don’t even need to read the news story to know what’s happening in this excellent photo from the AP’s Lauren Victoria Burke. Just fast-forward to the third verse of 2Pac’s “Picture Me Rollin’”, featuring the Capitol Punishment Organization (about 2:40 into the song). Lieberman is straight thuggin’:

WASHINGTON (AP) — Sen. Joe Lieberman will keep his chairmanship of the Senate Homeland Security Committee despite hard feelings over his support for GOP nominee John McCain during the presidential campaign.

The Connecticut independent will lose a minor panel post as punishment for criticizing Obama this fall.

Question: how many people even knew that Lieberman was on the Environment and Public Works panel? Between this, Emanuel’s appointment, and the Clinton as SoS (or, perhaps, SOS) speculation, it would appear that the oft-referenced “Change” referred to a change in party control of the executive branch, rather than change in the way that federal politics are conducted.

Coincidentally, I loathe Joe Liberman, and couldn’t disagree with him more; but you can’t hate the player in this case.
