Kalamazoo an ideal base of operations. A soulful, post-industrial town, we believe intellectual investment in such a city has extreme value in understanding the intricate patchwork of American culture.
We call the Kosmo “A Journal of Relevant Culture,” placing an emphasis on not just why something happened, but why it is important that it happened… by pinpointing its context within broader culture. Nothing is an isolated incident.
The Center for American Progress has given the Kosmopolitan a generous grant through their Campus Progress project in order to cover our operating costs, and expand our capabilities. Politically, however, the Kosmo stands as an arena in which to discuss politics; we are the disgruntled protester sitting down in the aisle.
